Steel and solid chimneys

Changes in operating procedures, new boiler systems, necessary construction work and the kind of damage that inevitably results from long-term operation will eventually lead to a need for maintenance or upgrading. Indeed, damage is practically unavoidable when a new boiler is fitted, especially in solid chimneys. But indirect damage can be avoided, for instance by fitting a stainless steel inner liner, provided it is tackled in time.

Therefore, before any structural or technical alterations are made, it is advisable to first assess the stack in order to identify any subsequent changes in terms of stress / operation.
