Vibration Dampers

Steel chimneys assigned to the category of towers with a tendency to sway. Transverse vibration may occur, depending on the degree of slenderness, location of the system and adjacent development. Vibration dampers draw on the principle of mass inertia. Using them minimises the natural frequency, thereby suppressing any tendency for the steel chimney to sway. A solid or hydraulic mass provides the damper weight.
